Go Wireless with M33 Access
M33 Access is proud of its wireless grid encompassing more
than 10,000 square miles of mostly rural Northeast Michigan,
which makes it one of the largest networks of its kind on
the planet.
A recent article published at
www.thestreet.com, had this to
say about our wireless network, which went online shortly
after our first tower went up in 1999:
“The pioneer in this field is Glenn Wilson, president and
founder of M33 Access in northern Michigan. Frustrated that
none of the telecom carriers would bring high-speed Internet
connections to the depressed countryside surrounding his
hometown of Rose City, Wilson figured out how to . . rig up
the country’s first renegade high-speed wireless ISP.”
M33 Access employs a series of 53 towers around the region
to broadcast its wireless signal.
We also have the rare distinction of being one of the very few Wireless Internet
Service Providers in the United States to be classified as an “essential
service.” Why? Because M33 Access provides high-speed internet access for a long
list of regional police and sheriff’s departments, 911 emergency call centers,
hospitals, fire departments as well as dozens of school districts, Kirtland
Community College and many private schools. Our business-class services are
enjoyed by hundreds of local business of all sizes and thousands of residential
customers who not long ago didn’t even have access to basic dial-up Internet
service.
